Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of recent OR experience and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Operating Room setting
• Patient population includes general surgical, orthopedic, ophthalmic, and GYN/OB cases
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Specialized procedures include colonoscopies, EGD, laparoscopic surgeries, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, cataract surgery, orthopedic procedures, and C-sections
• Uses Stryker orthopedic equipment, Olympus lap equipment, and Fugi endoscopy system
• Documentation and medication systems include Meditech and Omnicell
• Set schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm
• Call required as needed with a 30-minute callback requirement
• No floating or weekend shifts required
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Scrubs are provided
• Responsibilities include circulating and assisting in a wide range of surgical cases across various specialties
• No requirement to float to other units
• No weekend shifts required
• Call coverage is as needed, with a 30-minute required response time
• Unit provides a supportive environment with orientation for new travelers
• Holiday coverage requirements are not specified
• Open to both local and travel RNs, with local rate differences accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years' recent operating room experience
• Experience with general OR procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, laparoscopic, GYN/OB, orthopedic, and ophthalmic surgeries
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation monitoring, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling, peripheral IV starts, and universal protocol procedures
