Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with general surgery expertise and a WI or compact RN license for a day shift contract position.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital operating room with a general surgery focus
- Cases include HIPEC, Whipple, trauma, colectomy, burns, laparoscopic procedures, Davinci Xi robotics, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and procurements
- Kidney transplant experience is preferred
- Day shifts with 12-hour schedule from 6:40 am to 7:10 pm
- Contract length ranges from 17 to 26 weeks
- Travelers are prioritized for floating and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations as needed
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care in the OR
- Responsible for efficient case progression and turnover between cases
- Must implement safe, competent, and efficient perioperative care of patients and families at varying levels of complexity
- Floating may include assignments to different departments or locations depending on staffing needs
- Parking onsite requires a permit, but alternative transportation options are available
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license from permanent address state required
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site
