Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with general surgery expertise and a WI or compact RN license for a day shift contract position.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital operating room with a general surgery focus
• Cases include HIPEC, Whipple, trauma, colectomy, burns, laparoscopic procedures, Davinci Xi robotics, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and procurements
• Kidney transplant experience is preferred
• Day shifts with 12-hour schedule from 6:40 am to 7:10 pm
• Contract length ranges from 17 to 26 weeks
• Travelers are prioritized for floating and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations as needed
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care in the OR
• Responsible for efficient case progression and turnover between cases
• Must implement safe, competent, and efficient perioperative care of patients and families at varying levels of complexity
• Floating may include assignments to different departments or locations depending on staffing needs
• Parking onsite requires a permit, but alternative transportation options are available

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license from permanent address state required
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site
