Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in an acute setting requiring a BSN and at least 3 years of OR experience.

Responsibilities

Position is based in a hospital Operating Room environment with 35 ORs
Circulates in one OR room per assignment
Works 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts, typically 12-hour shifts from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, with one late shift per week and weekend day shifts every 5th weekend as needed
Includes 2-4 night call team shifts in a 4-week schedule, with possible additional evening call shifts
No floating to other units, but flexibility to work within all OR specialties is required
Utilizes EPIC EMR system
Scrubs in ceil blue are provided by the facility and must follow the surgical dress code
No earrings allowed while on duty
Expectation to complete unit orientation within one week, including a one-day hospital orientation covering charting, ESAR privileges, and orientation to pre-op and PACU areas
Must badge in and out of the facility for every shift
Work week is Sunday through Saturday
Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted
Call and holiday coverage required as scheduled

Requirements

Active SD or compact RN license required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Minimum of 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
Current BLS certification required
Must not have been employed by the specified health system within the past 6 months

Very traveler friendly. As a traveler CST with 16 years of experience, I loved knowing that the longer I stayed at this facility, the more I could learn. I look forward to returning after the snow has finished falling from the sky.

Cons

Parking at the facility can be a pain if you have a late start. In other words, anything after 6:30am.
