Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a NM or compact license and strong large ED background for night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in an urgent care center emergency department
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, three days per week
- Floating to other departments or locations within 20 miles as needed
- Care for a broad range of emergency and urgent care patients
- Epic EMR experience preferred, with onsite training available
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs
- Coordinate care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Administer medications and implement physician-ordered treatments according to protocols
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed
- Documentation in accordance with protocols and unit standards
- Must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
- Candidates who were perm staff must wait one year before being considered as travelers
- Completion and passing of BCA test are required on the first day during orientation; failure to pass after two attempts results in contract termination
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
- Minimum two years of recent experience in a large Emergency Department
- Successful completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Must pass an onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test with one opportunity to retest if needed
- English fluency required for reading, writing, and speaking
