Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in a correctional setting, requiring an active IL RN license and prior acute care experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a correctional facility providing acute Med/Surg nursing care
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, 11:00am to 11:30pm, with every other weekend required
- Mandatory floating to any unit or Cook facility within 50 miles as needed
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis
- No more than 5 days of requested time off, with a maximum of 2 consecutive days; no RTO approved for weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
- Failure to float or call out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
- Strict compliance with onboarding lab work timeframes
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- At least 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg required
- Correctional nursing experience preferred
- Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Proof of COVID vaccination is required
