Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position on a 2nd floor post-op surgical unit requiring a NC or compact license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based 2nd floor post-op surgical Med/Surg unit
• Primarily cares for adult post-operative inpatients
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Charge nurse duties may be required as needed
• Responsible for providing competent clinical nursing care using the nursing process
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively to ensure continuity of patient care
• Participates in patient education, discharge planning, and care evaluation
• May perform bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Expected to support and promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Must report to the lab for drug screening within 24 hours of committing to the assignment

Requirements

• Current NC or compact RN license required
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC
• Minimum of one year nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school
