Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an inpatient rehabilitation unit, requiring a WV or compact RN license and at least one year of bedside experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit within a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, spinal surgery, and amputee cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Uses Epic for EMR documentation
• Shift is 12 hours, 7PM-7AM, with rotating weekends and holidays
• No call or standby required
• Float to acute care units may be required if the unit is overstaffed
• No telemetry monitoring responsibilities
• Work with interdisciplinary rehab team including PT, OT, SLP, and neuropsychology
• Care for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomies, PEG and Mickey buttons, or NG tubes
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Unit orientation provided
• First time travelers are eligible for consideration
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the regular schedule

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of inpatient bedside nursing experience required
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• No prior permanent employment at the facility within the last 2 years
• No prior travel experience at the facility within the last 2 years after 1 year of employment
