Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a CT or compact license and trauma center experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient ratios average 1:4-5
• Serves a diverse adult patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
• Floats within scope to meet facility needs
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call duties
• Uses Epic for charting
• Responsibilities include providing telemetry care to medical-surgical patients in a high-acuity environment
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a large academic medical center
• Returning permanent staff must be separated for at least 2 years to be considered
• Facility can automatically approve up to 7 days of requested time off
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• Scrub attire must comply with facility standards

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required before start date
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a similar setting
• BLS certification required
• Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center at a large facility required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must not have prior issues on nursing license
• Flu vaccine required without declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless exempt for religious/medical reasons
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
