Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Surgery position requiring at least one year of OR circulator experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in an outpatient surgery setting handling cases in retina surgery, total hip/knees, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and podiatry
• Serves a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Operates in five OR rooms with an average daily census of 18
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• Utilizes Epic for EMR and Pyxis for medication management
• Schedule consists of four 9-hour day shifts per week with varied start times (6:00-15:30, 6:30-16:00, 8:00-17:30, 8:30-18:00)
• No routine weekends or on-call required, but occasional late stays may be needed based on room closures
• Rare floating may occur within scope and facility needs

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of one year operating room circulator experience in the intraoperative setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR and Pyxis preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Applicants who have previously worked in this health system must have been away for at least one year before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Provide circulating nursing care for a wide range of surgical specialties
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Must be available to work major holidays during the assignment period based on facility policy
• A maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) is allowed, with blackout dates during Spring Break in April
• No special scheduling requests are permitted; shift assignments are firm
• Must complete full compliance requirements prior to assignment to ensure timely orientation
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Return travelers must have completed a successful assignment outside the health system before being considered if previously ineligible
