Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a CT or compact license and two years of trauma center experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital setting
• Serves a mixed medical-surgical and telemetry patient population at a Level I Trauma Center
• Average patient ratio is 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights
• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR is utilized in this facility
• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients in a Level I Trauma Center
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Royal blue scrubs are required for this position
• Facility will auto-approve up to 7 days of requested time off; more than 7 days requires approval
• Returning employees must have been gone for a minimum of two years
• Participation in natural disaster or emergency response activities is required as needed

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date; pending license accepted with active status before assignment begins
• Minimum two years of recent RN experience in a large trauma center
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations allowed
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required unless a medical or religious exemption is provided
• No previous permanent employment within the past two years to be eligible as a traveler
• Applicants must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
