Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a compact or NC RN license, two years of MS/Tele experience, and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care, Level III trauma center and teaching hospital
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating may be required within scope or to sister campuses as needed
• Epic EMR is utilized and Epic experience is required
• No on-call requirements
• Care for a diverse patient population in a Level III trauma and teaching environment
• Scrub color is royal blue and white
• Pre-start modules must be completed, requiring 4–10 hours
• Return staff must have been gone at least one year to return as a traveler
• Travelers can extend contracts only once for day shift or twice for night shift, after which a 6-month break is required before returning
• Only one holiday off can be approved during the assignment
• Maximum of four days RTO unless stated otherwise
• Supportive interdisciplinary team environment

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum two years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Cannot accept candidates living within a 50-mile radius of the main campus
• First-time travelers are accepted
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
