Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on night shifts requiring a NC or compact license and proficiency with Epic EMR.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a short-term acute care hospital
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital setting
• Assigned patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend work required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope to like units and potentially to sister campuses may be required
• Uses Epic charting system with experience required
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Return staff must have at least one year of separation before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may extend only once for day shift and twice for night shift, then must be gone for six months before returning
• Pre-start modules between 4-10 hours must be completed prior to start date
• Requests for time off are limited to a maximum of 4 days unless otherwise stated
• Candidates may only request approval for one holiday off during the contract
• Team-based environment with opportunity to work at a teaching hospital

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Local candidates not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the hospital
