Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift role requiring a compact RN license and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a short-term acute care, Level III trauma teaching hospital
• Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6 on the MS/Tele unit
• Night shift schedule consists of four 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend work is required every other weekend
• Floating is required within scope, including between hospital and sister campus as needed
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Royal blue and white scrubs are required
• Modules and training must be completed pre-start, estimated at 4-10 hours
• May only request up to 4 days of RTO, with approval for only 1 holiday
• Return staff must be gone 1 year before reapplying as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend their contract once, then must wait 6 months before returning, except for Radiology positions
• Team environment within a large teaching hospital
• No on-call requirements for this position

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of application
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• SSN and date of birth must be provided for consideration
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Pending or temporary licenses are not accepted
