Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with charge and specialized ICU experience for a night shift assignment in California.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios are 1:2 in the ICU
• Requires floating to similar units such as Telemetry as needed
• Possible float to other facilities within the state
• Night shifts are scheduled as 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Uses Meditech and Epic charting systems
• Scrub color is flexible; any color is permitted
• Responsible for managing and providing patient care in the ICU, with charge duties as assigned
• May be required to float to other units or partner facilities
• Free parking available on site
• Returning former permanent staff must wait three months before being eligible to return as travelers and must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Requested time off must be included at time of application; changes may not be honored after submission
• Minimal to no requested time off is preferred
• Travelers are expected to float; refusal may result in contract termination
• Covid and flu vaccination documentation required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience, including experience in at least one of Surgical, Trauma, Shock, or Neuro ICU settings
• Charge RN experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• References: Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years in a comparable specialty required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• No pending licenses accepted
