Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience and active NE or compact RN licensure.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) within a children's hospital environment
- Unit has 32 beds with an average daily census of 21 patients
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
- Patient population includes post-op open hearts, single ventricles, complex cardiac anatomy and physiology, heart transplant, and heart failure cases
- Specialized procedures include invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA), ECMO and CRRT exposure, vasopressors, cardiac and sedation drips
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
- Unit is open to first-time travelers
- Role involves caring for high-acuity pediatric cardiac patients including those with heart transplants and complex cardiac needs
- Exposure to ECMO and CRRT expected
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a critical care environment
Requirements
- Active NE or Compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Experience with invasive cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips preferred
- Pediatric experience required
