Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care/Telemetry position requiring a NJ or compact RN license and strong clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit with Medical Surgical and Telemetry patient assignments
• Patient population includes pre- and post-operative trauma, TBI, orthopedic, vascular, neuro, bariatric, and medical patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-6 based on patient acuity
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:30
• Floating may occur within skillset when not needed on home unit
• Locals accepted for this assignment
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning employees must have been separated from the health system for at least one year to be eligible
• No block scheduling available for this position
• Candidates with open or active background or licensure issues will not be considered

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse required
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and IV Therapy required
• Experience with Epic EMR, wound vacs, respiratory support (chest tubes, BIPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, trachs), skin grafts, surgical drains, orthopedic trauma, CVAs, TBIs, spinal cord injuries, neurosurgical care, PCAs, and basic cardiac drips with no titration required
• Ability to access ports, central lines, and PICCs, and to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
