Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Sonographer with BLS, RDMS, and RVT certifications for a 13-week night shift assignment in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital radiology department with three ultrasound scanners and two rooms
• Night shifts, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• On-call coverage required for 2-4 weekend days per month, depending on staffing
• Patient cases include general, vascular, OB (1st trimester, BPP, UAD, growth), abdomen, pelvis, small parts, and pediatric (neonatal heads, renals, appendix) studies
• Equipment includes GE ultrasound machines, with charting in Epic, Synapse, and Viewpoint systems
• Floating required to St. Francis Interquest for weekend call coverage
• Royal blue top/black pants required as scrub color
• Duties include performing a wide range of ultrasound studies including vascular, abdominal, obstetric, pelvic, small parts, and pediatric exams
• Department is staffed with a supervisor, lead tech, and in-house radiologists, with Registered Radiology Assistants (RPAs) available
• No IV starts required as part of this position
• Two weeks of department-specific orientation provided
• Coverage for holidays that fall on scheduled shift days is expected
• A radiation badge will be provided for the assignment
• Candidates may not have been employed by a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Sonographer with general, OB, and vascular ultrasound skills
• Current BLS (AHA), RDMS, and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) via ARDMS certifications required
• Experience with Epic EMR and relevant radiology PACS preferred
• Driver's license must be provided
• Two recent professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility per radius rule
• Active state license required if applicable; pending licenses will not be accepted
