Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a skilled nursing and long-term care night shift assignment, requiring a ME or compact license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a post-acute care setting including LTC, SNF, acute rehab, and assisted living units
  • Unit capacity is 38 beds with a typical night nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:38
  • Patient population includes individuals with CHF, COPD, and post-surgical needs
  • Utilizes Allscripts and My Unity EMR systems
  • 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
  • No call or standby requirements
  • Floating required within LTC, SNF, acute rehab, and assisted living units
  • Responsibilities include admissions, discharges, medication administration, and treatments
  • Interdisciplinary team includes PT/OT/SLP, rehab specialists, case managers, and dieticians
  • Nurses are responsible for all treatments due to absence of onsite RT
  • Three-day unit-specific orientation provided, with a mix of day and night training for night shift staff
  • Dress code requires lime green and black scrubs with visible green
  • Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff
  • N95 masks are used for infection control measures

Requirements

  • Active ME or compact RN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience
  • Experience with PICC lines, G-tubes, wound vacs, and IV certification for LPNs preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination required as per Maine state regulations
