Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience and required breast imaging skills for an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ultrasound department of an acute care facility
• Perform imaging procedures including echocardiograms, vascular studies, and breast ultrasound depending on certification
• Patient population includes cardiac, vascular, and breast cases
• 8-hour rotating shifts including call and weekend requirements
• Uses Cerner for charting and documentation
• Responsibilities include performing non-invasive imaging studies, maintaining equipment and procedure areas, and coordinating patient scheduling
• Must be able to document procedures accurately in Cerner and communicate any abnormal findings to medical staff
• Gray scrubs are required
• Previous employees must have a 2-year break before returning
• Travelers cannot work within the WVU system for longer than one consecutive year and must take a 2-year break afterward
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local travelers are not accepted

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of sonography experience
• Breast ultrasound experience is required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification is required
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) certification is required if performing cardiac studies
• License required if applicable
