Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a busy Emergency Department day shift with at least 2 years of triage experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a non-trauma center Emergency Department with 20 total beds, including 15 monitored and 5 fast track rooms
• Handles a high volume of 80-100 patients per day in a fast-paced environment
• Day shift position (7:00 am start) with every other weekend and holiday required
• Unit functions as a Primary Stroke Center with a Cath Lab available
• Department is staffed with ED nurses and ED techs
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Responsible for comprehensive emergency nursing care for diverse patient populations across the lifespan
• Must pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) test on the first day of orientation; study guides are provided
• Blocked schedules are not permitted
• Works collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team
• Expected to cover holidays and every other weekend shifts
• Standard nursing dress code applies

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIH certifications required before patient care
• At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience with triage skills
• Pass dysrhythmia (EKG) exam at orientation with 2 attempts allowed
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
