Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a busy Emergency Department day shift with at least 2 years of triage experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a non-trauma center Emergency Department with 20 total beds, including 15 monitored and 5 fast track rooms
- Handles a high volume of 80-100 patients per day in a fast-paced environment
- Day shift position (7:00 am start) with every other weekend and holiday required
- Unit functions as a Primary Stroke Center with a Cath Lab available
- Department is staffed with ED nurses and ED techs
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius from the facility
- Responsible for comprehensive emergency nursing care for diverse patient populations across the lifespan
- Must pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) test on the first day of orientation; study guides are provided
- Blocked schedules are not permitted
- Works collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team
- Expected to cover holidays and every other weekend shifts
- Standard nursing dress code applies
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIH certifications required before patient care
- At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience with triage skills
- Pass dysrhythmia (EKG) exam at orientation with 2 attempts allowed
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
