Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced MRI Technologist with ARRT (MR) certification and hospital-based MRI experience for a rotating day schedule with call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting providing high acuity MRI scans including pacemakers and anesthesia cases
• Operates GE MRI and Medtronic pacemaker machines
• Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts per week with rotating days
• Overnight call required after shift until 7am, with two 24-hour Sunday call rotations per month and holiday call coverage
• Must be comfortable working independently at times
• Uses EPIC EHR (preferred) and PACS system (preferred)
• Responsible for daily MRI modality operations and adhering to established imaging protocols
• Performs IV injections and administers magnetic contrast agents for designated procedures
• Troubleshoots imaging equipment and reports malfunctions when necessary
• Provides patient care and instructions before, during, and after imaging procedures
• Contributes to staff training and assists in oversight of MRI students
• Study guides provided for EKG testing and preparation
• Professional scrubs or dress code required per facility standards
• First-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Certification and registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required or must obtain within one year of hire
• Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience in a hospital setting required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
• Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred
• Strong customer service and critical thinking skills required
• License required if applicable
• Must pass EKG testing on first day (two attempts allowed)
• Local candidates accepted with a 50-mile radius rule
