Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU assignment requiring MI RN licensure and EPIC proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) specializing in ventricular assist device (VAD) patient care
- Majority of work is outpatient with intermittent coverage in procedural areas and the OR
- Patient population consists primarily of destination therapy VAD patients using durable devices such as HeartMate 3, HeartMate 2, and BrioVAD
- Covers approximately 210 patients with responsibilities including equipment management, patient and caregiver education, and emergency management
- Work schedule consists of day shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, typically 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Friday
- Serve as an expert resource for VAD equipment, alarms, and device troubleshooting across multiple clinical environments
- Provide comprehensive education to staff, patients, and caregivers regarding VAD devices
- Responsible for triaging issues via call center, emergency line, and patient portal
- First time travelers are encouraged to apply
- Scrub or dress code requirements not specified
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience preferred, with 2 years required
- Current BLS certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- VAD-C certification preferred
- Previous employment with the client within the last 12 months will disqualify candidates
