Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a CT or compact license and trauma center experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is located in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a short term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
  • Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3
  • Night shifts are 12 hours, scheduled from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Every other weekend shifts are required
  • Charting is completed in Epic
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
  • Royal blue scrubs are required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Parking available for a monthly fee
  • Maximum of 7 days of time off may be requested and auto-approved; requests beyond 7 days require approval
  • Former permanent staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
  • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Participation in emergency response activities is required for travelers

Requirements

  • Active CT or compact state RN license, or proof of pending license with activation prior to start
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience
  • BLS certification required
  • Previous trauma center experience at a large facility is required
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Flu vaccine required without declination; COVID-19 vaccination/booster required with religious/medical exemption considered
