Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced SICU RN with a current DC license and trauma hospital experience for a Level 1 teaching facility.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:30 to 08:00
- Care for critically ill surgical patients with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
- Uses Cerner Sorian 1st Generation charting system
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a high-acuity, academic environment
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Parking available for a fee or accessible by public transportation via Metro and bus routes
- Only one time-off request accepted during the assignment
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of SICU nursing experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
- First-time travelers are accepted
