Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU night shift position requiring Epic experience and the ability to float between multiple critical care areas.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Patient ratios are typically 1:2, occasionally flexing to 1:3
• Will float to all ICUs and may float to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with 1:4 ratios
• Required to work four weekend shifts within every four-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Utilizes Epic EMR
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis, Edwards Lifesciences monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE monitors, Hill Rom beds, Pyxis Medication Station, and Veratron Bladder Scanner
• Nurses are responsible for all lab sticks, EKGs, and starting lines
• Travelers are expected to provide ICU-level care in other departments when floating
• Care for isolation and Covid-19 patients as needed
• Limited to 5 days of requested time off during the assignment
• CPI certification can be obtained onsite for a fee
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as scheduled

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH
• Must be comfortable with all lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Must know N95 mask size and be able to care for Covid-19 and other isolation patients
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Permanent employees at any facility within the system must have left at least 1 year prior to be considered
