Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN House Supervisor for a skilled nursing facility night shift position requiring a NY RN license and prior charge experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a skilled nursing facility serving as House Supervisor across 5 distinct units
  • Manages a facility with an average daily census of 180 residents
  • Patient populations include dementia, Alzheimer's with behavioral concerns, orthopedic and cardiac rehab, long term care, and residents at risk for elopement
  • Shifts include three 8-hour shifts and one 12-hour shift per week, scheduled between 3p-11p, 11p-7a, and 7p-7a
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Care includes use of wound vacs, PICC lines, nephrostomy tubes, tube feeds, indwelling catheters, and colostomies
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
  • No local candidates within 75 miles accepted
  • Oversees nursing care and staff across all units during off-shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Provides clinical expertise, staff mentoring, coaching, and facilitates patient flow for the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Any color scrubs are acceptable
  • Must be familiar with regulatory requirements from DPH, TJC, OSHA, and organizational escalation processes
  • Required to follow infection control, isolation, and HIPAA guidelines
  • Holiday coverage is required as part of this role

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • At least 2 years of RN experience and previous charge or supervisory experience required
  • Skilled nursing facility and code management experience required
  • Experience with de-escalation, emergency preparedness, managing assaultive behavior, and handling sentinel events required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
