Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Neuro position requiring a TN or compact RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical - Neuro unit of a community hospital
• Care for neurological patients on a medical-surgical floor with a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No call responsibilities
• Floating to other units is required
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education in addition to patient care responsibilities
• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online CBL modules
• 16 hours of nonbillable orientation provided
• Shift cancellations may occur biweekly based on census, and overtime/flex shifts are subject to census needs
• AHA certifications are the only accepted provider for required credentials

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• AHA BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience
• Community hospital experience required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
• First time travelers accepted
