Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring a MD or compact RN license, night shifts, and every other weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with complex, multi-diagnosis cases
• Work schedule consists of night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required (4 weekends per 4-week cycle)
• Staff float within specialty area, to lower-acuity patients, and to sister location as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5, may be up to 1:6 for lower acuity
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Must be willing to float within Telemetry, lower acuity, and to a sister location as needed
• Holiday coverage is required if scheduled
• Patient care will involve a wide range of adult telemetry diagnoses

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required; may be completed onsite during orientation
• Experience with a fast-paced, high-volume telemetry unit preferred
