Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NM or compact RN license, night shifts, and specialized fetal monitoring certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
• Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients including both vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Patient care includes labor evaluation, fetal assessments, and preparation for delivery or transfer as needed
• Use of Epic EMR; on-site training is available
• Required to float between departments or locations within 20 miles
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM, 3 shifts per week
• Duties include assessment and management of pregnant patients, medication administration (such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin, etc.), and stabilization of newborns
• Responsible for care of critically ill newborns and those requiring specialized interventions such as phototherapy, hypoglycemia care, and stabilization for transport
• Assist with newborn procedures including hearing screening, medication administration, IV starts, and circumcisions
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Returning employees must wait at least one year after prior employment to be eligible
• Must successfully complete required hospital orientation and competency testing

Requirements

• Active New Mexico or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years current Labor & Delivery experience
• Associate's degree or higher in Nursing required
• Certifications required: BLS through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross; NRP; AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during first week of assignment
• English language proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
