Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a SC or compact RN license, BLS, and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm
• Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6
• Floating to similar units may be required according to facility needs
• Every other weekend is required
• Level III trauma environment
• Epic EMR is used
• Must complete pre-assignment modules
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates must live at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status; locals may be approved at a different rate
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of application and is subject to approval based on facility needs
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated for a minimum of one year before being eligible as a traveler
• Employees and contractors may be expected to participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge or community hospital experience preferred
• SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
