Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg unit night shift role that requires a VA or compact RN license and previous surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on an inpatient Medical Surgical unit
• Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Patient ratios are typically 1:6
• Care includes adult and select pediatric surgical patients ages 12 and above, depending on procedure
• Types of surgeries include general, abdominal, urological, orthopedic, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine, and bariatric procedures
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but shifts may be grouped if possible
• Expect to work holidays according to unit rotation for the duration of the assignment
• All requests for time off must be included at the time of assignment confirmation

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration
• At least 1 year of previous surgical experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Local candidates who live within 50 miles are not eligible
• Pending licenses are not accepted
