Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med Surg RN with a strong foundation in urology/nephrology and charge experience for a night shift assignment in Illinois.
Details
- Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 25-bed urology/nephrology medical surgical unit
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Average daily census of 23 patients
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other Med Surg units within scope may be required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Cerner EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required or must be in application process
- Minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- Experience in MS/Tele, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response with rapid response teams required
- Strong skills in pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure management, and genitourinary/renal cases required
- IV therapy/phlebotomy skills including blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC management, and IV starts required
- Experience with heparin administration, and respiratory care including chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and portable oxygen
- Knowledge in wound care and use of wound vacs required
- Cerner charting system experience required
Additional Information
- Charge nurse duties will be assigned as needed during the assignment
- Must adhere to isolation precautions and infection control best practices
- Will participate in management of patients with complex renal and genitourinary conditions
- Required to wear any solid color scrubs
- Parking permit is provided at no cost and will be organized during orientation
- This is a Magnet designated, Level I trauma facility
- First-time travelers with strong Med/Surg backgrounds are welcome to apply
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed
