Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position, requiring ICU experience, night shifts, and an active NJ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital's Stepdown Unit (SDU) with a patient population and acuity similar to ICU
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Use of EPIC EMR is required
• Floating may be required to a nearby sister hospital
• Deliver nursing care to patients with complex medical needs, including pre- and post-surgical care
• Provide patient and family education regarding conditions, procedures, and care instructions
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of emergency equipment and response protocols
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety initiatives, and documentation standards
• Observe the facility's dress code for scrubs
• Assignment limited to one year at the facility, with a required break before re-assignment

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• At least 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates)
• Experience with EPIC charting required
