Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, ARDMS certification, and proficiency in Epic charting for a day shift assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital medical imaging department specializing in ultrasound procedures
- Day shifts, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts starting between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM
- Performs routine and specialized ultrasound exams for patients of all ages
- Uses Epic EMR system and must have experience charting in Epic
- Utilizes a range of ultrasound equipment and assists with procedures involving catheters, biopsy instruments, and sterile trays
- Primary duties include performing diagnostic ultrasound exams, preparing patients, adapting procedures for best results, and evaluating finished images for diagnostic quality
- Assist radiologist with biopsy procedures and manage related lab/pathology orders under supervision
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, stock supplies, and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Expected to train and guide fellow technologists and students as needed
- Team-oriented environment with knowledge-sharing and support encouraged
- No local candidates are eligible; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Assignment RTO (requested time off) not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Returning travelers may not remain on assignment for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year recent ultrasound/sonography experience
- Associate's degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or a certificate of completion from an accredited program
- Current ARDMS certification required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma environment required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to maintain patient confidentiality and a professional demeanor
- License required if applicable
