Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of trauma and OR experience for a hospital-based assignment requiring ARRT certification and MI state license.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based position in a diagnostic radiology department
• Assignment in ER or OR with responsibilities for portable imaging
• Serving both young and geriatric patient populations
• Exposure to level I or II trauma cases required
• Use of equipment includes GE, Carestream, and OEC C-Arms
• Work schedule is five 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with every other weekend rotation
• No call or block scheduling required
• Experience with Cerner EMR required; Epic is not used
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Must complete and pass online modules prior to start during onsite onboarding
• Responsible for explaining procedures, preparing patients and procedure rooms, and performing radiologic imaging according to protocols
• Must follow principles of radiation protection and infection control practices
• Duties include reviewing clinical data, positioning patients, administering contrast, and monitoring for adverse reactions
• Expected to document all imaging and related information in both PACS and RIS systems
• Will be involved in training new hires or students as needed
• Must demonstrate strong teamwork, flexibility, customer service, and respect for diversity
• COVID vaccine is required
• Personal protective equipment and adherence to safety standards are necessary due to possible exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients
• Physical ability to occasionally lift and move equipment or patients exceeding 10 lbs is needed
• Every other weekend work required

Requirements

• Active Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required
• Active Michigan state radiology license required if applicable
• Current AHA BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in radiology, including trauma and OR settings
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience with Cerner EMR and specified imaging equipment
