Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a VA or compact license, BLS, NRP, fetal monitoring, and AWHONN intermediate certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit
  • Rotating day and night shifts with 3x12 hour schedules (7:00-19:00 and 19:00-7:00)
  • Expected to cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as needed
  • Unit has 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
  • Handles both low risk (including certified nurse midwife population) and high risk maternal fetal medicine cases
  • Average of 2000 deliveries annually
  • Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Cross-training to the Mother/Baby unit may be required during assignment
  • Candidates should notify if there are any known background issues
  • No radius requirement applies for this position
  • Candidates may take up to 40 hours of time off during a 13-week contract
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Holiday coverage is required every other holiday

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP, fetal monitoring, and AWHONN intermediate
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • 12 months must pass before returning as a traveler
