Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 3+ years PET experience and proficiency with GE equipment for a cancer care setting.
Responsibilities
- Work in a cancer center serving adult and geriatric patients
- PET and Nuclear Medicine procedures with an estimated 3-4 PET scans per day
- Monday to Friday day shifts from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- No call requirements
- Uses GE equipment; SPECT, HIDA, and PET scan procedures performed
- EMR: Epic with SBAR communication required
- Must support pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
- Responsible for patient assessment and performance of nuclear medicine and PET procedures
- Maintain and promote radiation safety at all times
- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and perform scans for both inpatients and outpatients
- Work under direct supervision of a Board-Certified Radiologist
- Scrubs required but not provided; any color allowed except patterns or logos
- First-time travelers are welcome
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in PET required
- Proficiency with GE nuclear medicine equipment required
- Required certifications: BLS, CNMT, ARRT or NMTCB, Illinois State License, and graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program
- Experience in adult hospital setting required
- Experience with HIDA scans, isolation precautions, starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, and safe handling of radioactive materials
- Experience with Siemens equipment, gastric emptying, MUGA scans, bone scans, liver imaging, and SPECT preferred
- License required if applicable
