Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of experience and ACLS/BLS certification for a day shift position with call and weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
• Handles diverse surgical cases including ortho, cardio thoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic procedures
• Trauma Level II environment
• Day shift (3x12 hours), 6:15 AM to 6:45 PM
• Requires participation in weekend coverage and 3-4 call shifts every 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Uses Epic EMR; experience preferred
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Provide perioperative nursing care including intraoperative and post-anesthesia support
• May work with a team in a fast-paced, multi-specialty surgical environment
• Holiday and call coverage is expected as part of the team rotation
• Maximum of 5 days of RTO allowed
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Former permanent employees must be gone for at least 1 year to be eligible

Requirements

• Active unencumbered RN license in LA or compact state required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room RN experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
