Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of experience and BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a 24-bed Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes Med/Surg and telemetry overflow cases
• Nurse to patient ratios are 1:6-7 with CNA support
• Telemetry is monitored remotely by a technician
• Required to work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 to 19:15
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Contracts available for 13 weeks with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Floating required to sister units as needed
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR systems
• 36 hours of unit orientation provided along with a full hospital orientation in the first week
• Strong emphasis on teamwork with a diverse nursing and CNA team
• Scrub color is navy blue
• No additional requested time off (RTO) accepted after booking; call-offs or further RTO may result in cancellation
• Nurses are responsible for collaborating closely with inpatient care specialists
• Locals are accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Current BCLS certification required
• Ability to identify and treat dysrhythmias
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers will not be considered
