Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a day shift Operating Room position requiring Level 1 Trauma Center and circulating skills in a specialized Eye OR.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Eye Institute Operating Room within a hospital setting
- Unit functions as a 25-bed Level 1 Trauma Center with a focus on eye surgeries
- Hospital is a Magnet-designated, teaching facility with 500 staffed beds
- Primary service lines include orthopedics, spine, and neuro, with no cardiac or transplant cases
- Day shifts of 4x10 hours with variable days off, Monday through Friday
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Pyxis used for medication management
- Epic is the charting system, with experience preferred but not required
- Floating outside the unit is not required
- Responsibilities include circulating in a high-acuity surgical OR focused on eye procedures
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Onsite parking is available for a fee, with additional offsite options and shuttle service on weekdays
- Team-oriented environment with experienced surgical and trauma support staff
- Holiday work not required
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates as travelers
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license (candidates using a compact license must apply for a WA license and complete WA-specific requirements)
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required
- At least 2 years of operating room RN experience required, with preference for eye OR experience
- Experience circulating in an OR required
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required, no exceptions
- RTO cannot exceed 6 days and is not allowed during orientation week
- Applicants must not have worked as staff at the facility within the past 18 months
