Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a ME or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
• Night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Provides care to patients of all age groups in an emergency setting
• Responsible for initial and ongoing age-appropriate assessments, discharge planning, and delivery of nursing care in the ED
• Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding
• Expected to participate in quality improvement and emergency preparedness initiatives
• Reports to Human Resources for onboarding on the first day
• Work environment may involve walking, standing, kneeling, exposure to infectious diseases and toxic chemicals
• Professional behavior promoting hospital standards is expected

Requirements

• Active ME or compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
• Current, unexpired BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Immunizations required: varicella (2 doses or titer), HepB (3 doses or titer or declination), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, PPD (2 step or titer within past 12 months), and flu shot during flu season
• BSN preferred
• Must have ability to assess, lift, push, and move patients, and safely handle up to 30 lbs
