Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and RTR-M mammography certification for a robust breast imaging department assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a breast imaging department with 4 mammography rooms and a mobile van
• Performs 15-20 exams per technologist per day
• Procedures include screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, stereotactic biopsies, and Bone Density (DXA) exams
• Uses digital imaging equipment with PACS for image management
• Day shift schedule from 08:00 to 16:30
• 13-week assignment
• Responsibilities include verifying patient identity with two identifiers, ensuring exam accuracy, and documenting order clarifications
• Must maintain all required documentation according to MQSA standards
• Ensures high quality images are forwarded to radiologists for interpretation
• Provides age-specific care and maintains patient confidentiality following hospital policies
• Orientation and training provided before independent work

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year mammography technologist experience required
• Current RTR-M certification is required
• ARRT or NMTCB certification required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• License required if applicable
• Must be able to perform all mammography exams independently after orientation
• Experience with PACS preferred
