Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist with BLS and ARDMS or ARRT certification for night shifts in a teaching, Magnet, Level 1 Trauma setting.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a pediatric ultrasound department within a large teaching hospital
  • No floating between hospital buildings; all shifts are on-site in the children’s hospital
  • Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with potential flexibility to cover additional days
  • Patient population includes neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
  • Procedures include NEC and TCD, spines, liver and renal Doppler (all vessels), extremity venous Doppler, renal transplants, intussusception, pyloric stenosis, appendix, and neonatal head ultrasounds
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds and Magnet designation
  • Main responsibilities include performing a variety of pediatric ultrasound exams, including advanced vascular and transplant studies
  • Scrub attire must be teal tops and black bottoms
  • All staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
  • Parking for nights and weekends is available for a one-time $20 pass
  • Completion of onboarding modules is required ahead of start date
  • RTO (requested time off) must be declared at time of application and is subject to approval
  • Former staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Minimum of 2-3 years dedicated pediatric ultrasound experience in a hospital setting
  • Current BLS and ARDMS or ARRT certification required
  • Experience with a wide range of pediatric ultrasound cases, including specialty Doppler and neonatal procedures
  • Liver transplant experience preferred
  • Social Security Number and driver’s license required for consideration
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • License required if applicable
  • Must meet a 60-mile radius rule; local candidates accepted at a reduced rate and subject to approval
