Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and an active MI license for an orthopedic-focused outpatient role.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient orthopedic radiology setting
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM shifts
• Patient population includes orthopedic and potentially post-surgical cases
• Work may take place with a fixed radiology unit or portable equipment in various settings including OR and ER
• Use of PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS) for image and data management
• Assignment is for 13 weeks
• Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Perform radiologic procedures under direction of a Radiologist following department protocols
• Explain examination procedures, prepare patients, and obtain necessary clinical information
• Maintain high standards for patient safety, privacy, and comfort
• Operate imaging equipment, shield patients, and apply ALARA radiation safety techniques
• May administer IV contrast and monitor patients for reactions if applicable
• Responsible for accurate documentation in patient records and radiology information systems
• Participate in teaching and supporting new hires and students as needed
• Adhere to team member standards of communication, teamwork, and professionalism
• No blocked scheduling available
• Report to lab for drug screening within 24 hours of commitment
• Internal rules require RTO be listed prior to contract; later requests discussed after assignment starts

Requirements

• Active Radiologic Technologist (MI) license required if applicable
• ARRT (R) certification required
• AHA BLS required
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiology Technologist
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to meet physical demands including occasional lifting of equipment or patients over 10 lbs
• Completion of online modules and required training prior to start
• COVID-19 vaccination required
