Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 12-hour day shift position requiring at least two years of ER nursing experience and multiple certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- 8 patient rooms with additional hallway spaces
- Patient population includes neonate through geriatric with a range from clinic to critical acuity
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 for both days and nights
- Uses Epic EMR system, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors
- Bedside and nurses' station telemetry monitoring
- No floating required
- 12-hour day shifts with weekend rotation every other weekend
- Schedule is based on a 6-week cycle
- No on-call responsibilities
- COVID vaccination required
- Support includes techs, resource nurse, RT and hospitalist coverage
- Navy scrubs required
- Free parking available
- 4 hours of orientation with clinical educator followed by 2-3 shifts on the unit
- Not considering first-time travelers for this assignment
- Holiday coverage expectations may vary
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
- MHS telemetry exam completion required prior to start
- CPI or MOAB certification preferred
- Minimum of two years recent ER nursing experience required
- General ER skillset including experience with ETOH/drug abuse, cardiac, orthopedic cases, and stroke care
- Traveler telemetry competency exam required before start
