Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with a WA or compact license and strong emergency department skills for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Room (ER) of a hospital setting
• Shift is 12-hour nights with a patient ratio of 1:4
• Cares for neonate to geriatric patients across all acuity levels, including critical
• 8 ER rooms and 3 hallway spaces
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors
• No floating required
• Weekend rotation is every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Telemetry monitoring at bedside and nurses’ station
• Support staff includes CNA/Techs, RT, Resource Nurse, and Hospitalist coverage 24/7
• Charge nurse is free floating and available for additional support
• Initial orientation includes 4 hours with a clinical educator plus 2-3 unit shifts
• Preceptor support provided for first 2-3 weeks before independent assignment
• Scrub color is navy
• Free parking provided
• Holiday coverage expectations vary
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Requirements

• Active RN license in WA or compact state
• Minimum of 2 years recent ER experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, MHS Tele exam
• CPI or MOAB certification preferred
• General ER skills including ETOH/drug abuse, cardiac, orthopedic, and stroke care (no dialysis)
• Must pass traveler telemetry competency prior to start
• COVID vaccination required
