Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring EPIC charting proficiency, BLS certification, and a NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Expected to float to other units or Cone Health system facilities as needed
• Primary patient population includes medical-surgical, observation, respiratory, palliative, end of life, hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes, and surgical observation cases
• EMR used is EPIC and prior experience is mandatory
• Responsibilities include caring for a diverse Med/Surg patient population including observation and surgical cases
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences applies
• Candidates must prepare independently for the required EKG exam as study materials are not provided
• First time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• At least 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Must pass a required pass/fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
