Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring EPIC proficiency and strong skills in dysrhythmia management.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Emergency Department of an ambulatory campus with adult and pediatric patients
• Work schedule is 3x12 hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required between all system campuses
• Average patient ratio is 1:4 in an 18-bed unit with an average daily census of 75
• Must be proficient in using EPIC EMR
• Role includes care for both adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Responsibilities include triage, dysrhythmia management, IV starts, and phlebotomy
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Team structure may include both experienced and first-time travel nurses
• Strict attendance policy with zero tolerance for tardiness or unexcused absences

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Prior experience in a general emergency department required
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Phlebotomy, IV initiation, and triage skills required
• Must pass an EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed during compliance, no study materials provided by the facility
• Previous charge RN experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
