Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring EPIC proficiency and strong skills in dysrhythmia management.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Emergency Department of an ambulatory campus with adult and pediatric patients
- Work schedule is 3x12 hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required between all system campuses
- Average patient ratio is 1:4 in an 18-bed unit with an average daily census of 75
- Must be proficient in using EPIC EMR
- Role includes care for both adult and pediatric emergency patients
- Responsibilities include triage, dysrhythmia management, IV starts, and phlebotomy
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Team structure may include both experienced and first-time travel nurses
- Strict attendance policy with zero tolerance for tardiness or unexcused absences
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Prior experience in a general emergency department required
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Phlebotomy, IV initiation, and triage skills required
- Must pass an EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed during compliance, no study materials provided by the facility
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
