Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transitional Care Unit Med/Surg position in Hawaii requiring a HI RN license and flexibility with variable shifts.

Responsibilities

Work in a Transitional Care Unit (TCU) with adult Med/Surg patients
32-bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:8 and 1:6 aides during the day
May float to Med Surg and Surgical Peds units as needed
Utilizes Meditech EMR, pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding, NG/G-Tubes, trach care, and PICC/PORT equipment
Variable shifts and days are required, with a schedule of 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
No guarantee of specific shift preferences
Department-specific orientation is provided for each unit
Must be able to work flexible schedules and shift lengths as assigned
Professional nursing attire is required
Be in Hawaii the Thursday before your start date to attend Employee Health clearance on Friday
May be required to float to additional units based on staffing needs

Requirements

Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience
BLS certification required
Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved exception required prior to start
Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours before assignment begins
