Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a CT or compact license, Level I trauma center experience, and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit
Short-term acute care setting with Level I Trauma Center designation
Patient ratios are typically 1:4 on days and weekends, and 1:5 on nights
Uses Epic for electronic charting
12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required
Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
No on-call responsibility
Primary responsibilities include providing nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients and monitoring telemetry equipment
Participation in natural disaster or emergency response activities may be required
Travelers are part of an academic medical center environment with significant support and resources
A maximum of 7 days of requested time off can be auto-approved
Parking for staff is available for a monthly fee
Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not eligible for this position
Professional attire or hospital-designated scrubs may be required

Requirements

Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start
Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in a large trauma center setting
Current BLS certification required
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Flu vaccine is required with no declinations accepted
COVID-19 vaccine and booster required, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons
Candidates must not have prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license
Returning staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible
